Browse theme files

Open a theme's Liquid, JSON, CSS and JavaScript files, search across every file and jump to a file by name. Theme files are read-only in StoreFleet for now.

Updated

On this page
  1. Open a theme’s files
  2. Find a file
  3. Search across all files
  4. Edit a file

The Theme files screen shows a theme’s code in a file explorer and a code viewer, in both Multi-Store Sync and the Dashboard. Files open read-only: you can read and search them, but not save changes from StoreFleet yet.

Open a theme’s files

  1. In Multi-Store Sync, click Online store; in the Dashboard, open Online store → Themes and pick the shop in the header.
  2. Click Edit files on the theme.

The live theme shows the warning This is the live theme at the top, so you always know which theme you are looking at.

Find a file

  1. Use Explorer on the left to open folders and click a file. Each file opens in its own tab; close a tab with its close button.
  2. To jump to a file by name, press ⌘P (Ctrl+P on Windows) and type in Go to file.

Images and other files that are not text show This file can’t be previewed here.

Search across all files

  1. Click Search on the left, or press ⇧⌘F (Ctrl+Shift+F on Windows).
  2. Type what you are looking for. Turn on Match case, Match whole word or Use regular expression if you need them.
  3. Click a result to open the file at that line.

Edit a file

The status bar shows Read-only. In Multi-Store Sync it also has the link Open in Shopify code editor, which opens the same theme in Shopify’s own editor, where you can change and save files. In the Dashboard, edit the theme in the shop’s Shopify admin.

See View your shop’s themes for why theme changes are read-only for now.
