Add and edit locations
Add a warehouse or retail store a Shopify shop fulfils from, edit its address and local pickup, deactivate it and move its stock, or delete it.
On this page
Locations are the places a shop stocks inventory and fulfils orders from. The list shows each location’s Name, Address, Status (Active or Inactive) and whether it Fulfills online orders.
Open Locations
- In Multi-Store Sync (Shopify admin): click Settings, then Locations. If you have linked more than one shop, pick the shop with the store switcher at the top.
- In the Dashboard: open Shop → Locations and pick the shop in the header.
Add a location
- Click Add location.
- Enter the name (Location name in Multi-Store Sync, Name in the Dashboard), Address, Apartment, suite, etc., City, state or province, Country code, ZIP or postal code and Phone.
- Tick the online orders box (Fulfill online orders from this location in Multi-Store Sync, Fulfills online orders in the Dashboard) if online orders can ship from here.
- To offer pickup, turn on Local pickup, then add Pickup instructions and choose how soon orders are usually ready, from 1 hour to 5 or more days (Expected pickup time in Multi-Store Sync, Usually ready in in the Dashboard).
- Click Save (Save changes in the Dashboard).
Edit a location
- Click Edit on the location.
- Change what you need and save.
Deactivate or activate a location
- Click Edit on the location, then Deactivate.
- Under Move inventory to, choose another location to move its stock to, or Don’t move inventory.
- Confirm with Deactivate. The location stops accepting new inventory and orders.
To use an inactive location again, open it and click Activate.
Delete a location
- Click Edit on the location, then the delete button (Delete location in Multi-Store Sync, Delete in the Dashboard).
- Confirm. The location is deleted permanently; Shopify keeps no archived copy.
When changes reach the shop
Deactivating and activating a location are Admin only in Approval Settings, and this cannot be relaxed.
- In the Dashboard: the change is sent to Approvals. You see Sent for approval — an Admin approves it in Approvals, with View in Approvals. Nothing is written to the shop until a member with the Admin role approves it, even when an Admin made the request.
- In Multi-Store Sync (Shopify admin): when the workspace has at least one Admin, the change is sent to Approvals in the StoreFleet Dashboard, and you see Sent for approval. An Admin approves it in StoreFleet Dashboard → Approvals. If nobody in the workspace has the Admin role yet, for example because no one uses the Dashboard, Multi-Store Sync writes it to Shopify right away as before.
Adding, editing and deleting a location are written to Shopify straight away, from both Multi-Store Sync and the Dashboard. See Approve or reject a change.
