Store credit, marketing consent and account invites

Add or remove a customer's store credit, change their email and SMS marketing consent, and send an account invite from Multi-Store Sync or the Dashboard.

Updated

On this page
  1. Add or remove store credit
  2. Change marketing consent
  3. Send an account invite

These cards are on the customer’s page, in the same place in Multi-Store Sync and in the Dashboard. There is no separate Save. Marketing consent and account invites are sent to Shopify as soon as you confirm them; store credit is Admin only and goes to Approvals for an Admin to approve (from Multi-Store Sync, only when the workspace has an Admin; see below).

Add or remove store credit

  1. Open the customer and find Store credit. It shows the Balance.
  2. Click Add credit, or Remove credit.
  3. Enter the Amount. It must be more than zero.
  4. Click Add credit or Remove credit to confirm.

When store credit reaches the shop

Adding and removing store credit are Admin only in Approval Settings, and this cannot be relaxed.

  • In the Dashboard: the change is sent to Approvals. You see Sent for approval — an Admin approves it in Approvals, with View in Approvals. Nothing is written to the shop until a member with the Admin role approves it, even when an Admin made the request.
  • In Multi-Store Sync (Shopify admin): when the workspace has at least one Admin, it is sent to Approvals in the StoreFleet Dashboard, and you see Sent for approval. An Admin approves it in StoreFleet Dashboard → Approvals. If nobody in the workspace has the Admin role yet, for example because no one uses the Dashboard, Multi-Store Sync writes it to Shopify right away as before.

The Balance changes once the credit is applied. See Approve or reject a change.

Remove credit only appears once the customer has store credit. If the card shows Balance unavailable, the shop has not granted the permission needed to show the balance yet. You can still add credit.

  1. Find Marketing.
  2. Turn Customer agreed to receive marketing emails or Customer agreed to receive SMS marketing on or off.

Under each switch you see the current state (for example Subscribed or Unsubscribed) and when it was last updated. A switch is locked when the state is Redacted or Invalid. In the Dashboard, the email switch also needs the customer to have an email address, and the SMS switch needs a phone number.

Send an account invite

  1. At the top of the customer’s page, click Send account invite.
  2. You see Account invite sent. when Shopify sends it.

Account invites only work on shops that still use legacy customer accounts. With new customer accounts, customers sign in with a one-time code, so Shopify does not send an invite and the page tells you so.
