Edit store policies
Write or update a Shopify shop's refund, privacy, shipping, terms of service and other legal policies, which are linked in the checkout footer.
On this page
Policies are linked in the footer of your checkout, and you can add them to your online store menu too. The list shows each Policy and its Status: when it was last updated, or Not set.
The policies are: refund policy (Refund policy in Multi-Store Sync, Return and refund policy in the Dashboard), Privacy policy, Terms of service, Shipping policy, Contact information, Terms of sale, Legal notice and Cancellation policy.
Open Policies
- In Multi-Store Sync (Shopify admin): click Settings, then Policies. If you have linked more than one shop, pick the shop with the store switcher at the top.
- In the Dashboard: open Shop → Policies and pick the shop in the header.
Write or edit a policy
- Click Edit on the policy.
- Write the text (Policy text in Multi-Store Sync, Policy in the Dashboard). HTML is allowed.
- Click Save.
In Multi-Store Sync you see Policy saved when the text is written to the shop. If the shop refused the text, the box shows This policy wasn’t saved with the reason.
See a policy on your store
In Multi-Store Sync, a set policy has a View link under Online store that opens it on your storefront.
When changes reach the shop
Updating a policy is Admin only in Approval Settings, and this cannot be relaxed.
- In the Dashboard: saving sends the policy to Approvals. You see Sent for approval — an Admin approves it in Approvals, with View in Approvals. Nothing is written to the shop until a member with the Admin role approves it, even when an Admin made the request. The shop keeps the current text until then.
- In Multi-Store Sync (Shopify admin): when the workspace has at least one Admin, it is sent to Approvals in the StoreFleet Dashboard, and you see Sent for approval. An Admin approves it in StoreFleet Dashboard → Approvals. If nobody in the workspace has the Admin role yet, for example because no one uses the Dashboard, Multi-Store Sync writes it to Shopify right away as before.
See Approve or reject a change.
