A transfer moves stock from one location of a shop to another. You create it at the origin, ship it, and receive it at the destination. Both Multi-Store Sync inside Shopify admin and the StoreFleet Dashboard handle transfers, one shop at a time.

Open transfers

  • In Multi-Store Sync (Shopify admin): open Products in the app’s menu, then the Transfers tab.
  • In the Dashboard: open Inventory & Products → Transfers and pick the shop in the header.

The list shows each Transfer with its Status (Draft, Ready to ship, In progress, Transferred or Canceled), Origin, Destination, Items and Created date.

Create a transfer

  1. Click Create transfer.
  2. Choose the Origin and the Destination. They must be different locations.
  3. Under Add products, search for products and add them. Set the Quantity of each.
  4. Under Transfer details, you can set the Estimated arrival, a Reference name, a note and Tags.
  5. Under Shipment, choose how far to go now:
    • Leave both boxes empty to save it as a Draft.
    • Tick Mark as ready to ship to skip Draft. Inventory is reserved at the origin.
    • Tick Add shipment details now to also enter a Tracking number, Shipping carrier and Tracking URL.
  6. Click Save (Multi-Store Sync) or Create transfer (Dashboard).

Mark a draft as ready to ship

  1. Open the transfer.
  2. In Shipments, click Mark as ready to ship.

In Multi-Store Sync, once a transfer is ready to ship and has items left to send, you can also click Create shipment there.

Receive a transfer

  1. Open the transfer. In Shipments, click Receive inventory on the shipment.
  2. For each line, the table shows what was Sent and already received. Enter how many you accept and how many you reject.
  3. To take everything still outstanding, click Accept all unreceived (Multi-Store Sync) or Accept remaining (Dashboard).
  4. Click Receive inventory (Multi-Store Sync) or Receive (Dashboard).

A transfer can only be received once it has a shipment.

When changes reach the shop

  • Multi-Store Sync makes each step on the shop at once. You see Transfer created, Transfer marked as ready to ship or Inventory received.
  • The Dashboard sends creating, marking ready to ship and receiving through approval. By default each one waits for approval; the shop’s Approval Settings decide. You see Saved to the shop. when it is applied at once, or Submitted for approval. Nothing changed on the shop yet. when it waits. See Approve or reject a change.

What you cannot do here

  • The Dashboard has no Create shipment button on an existing transfer. Add shipment details when you create it, or use Multi-Store Sync.
  • In the Dashboard, a shipment that Shopify returns without line details can only be accepted in full: use Accept remaining on every line, with nothing rejected.
  • To change stock at a single location without moving it, see Edit inventory.
