Add and publish languages
Choose which languages a Shopify shop offers: add a language, publish or unpublish it, remove it, and open its translations.
On this page
Customers see a shop in the languages you publish. The Languages list shows each Language, its Status (Published or Unpublished) and its Domains. The shop’s default language is marked Default.
Open Languages
- In Multi-Store Sync (Shopify admin): click Settings, then Languages. If you have linked more than one shop, pick the shop with the store switcher at the top.
- In the Dashboard: open Shop → Languages and pick the shop in the header.
Add a language
- Click Add language.
- Choose it in Select a language.
- Click Add.
Check its Status in the list, and publish it when its translations are ready. If every available language is already added, the screen tells you so.
Publish, unpublish or remove a language
- Open the actions menu on the language’s row.
- Choose Publish or Unpublish, or Remove.
- If you remove it, confirm. Customers no longer see the store in that language, and every translation into it is deleted.
The default language has no actions. It can only be changed in Shopify admin; Multi-Store Sync links you to Settings → Languages there.
Translate
Click Translate on a language to open its translations. See Translate your store content.
If the shop hasn’t approved the permission
Languages and translations need a permission the shop may not have approved yet. In that case the screen says so. The shop owner approves it by opening StoreFleet: Inventory Sync from Apps in Shopify admin and accepting the updated permissions; it cannot be requested from the Dashboard.
When changes reach the shop
Language changes are written to Shopify straight away, from both Multi-Store Sync and the Dashboard.
