Cancel an order

Cancelling stops fulfillment and payment collection for an order. Cancelling is Admin only: in the Dashboard, and in StoreFleet: Inventory Sync once your workspace has an Admin, the cancellation is sent for an Admin’s approval first.

Cancel in Multi-Store Sync (Shopify admin)

1. Open StoreFleet: Inventory Sync → Orders and click the order.
2. Click More actions → Cancel order.
3. Choose a Reason.
4. Optionally add a Staff note.
5. Tick the options you need: Refund the original payment method, Restock items, Send a notification to the customer.
6. Click Cancel order. To back out, click Keep order.

Once your workspace has at least one Admin, Multi-Store Sync does not cancel the order at once: it sends the request to Approvals in the StoreFleet Dashboard and shows Sent for approval. An Admin approves it in StoreFleet Dashboard → Approvals. The order stays open until an Admin approves it. If nobody in your workspace uses the Dashboard yet, so there is no Admin, the cancellation starts right away and you see Cancellation started.

Shopify processes a cancellation in the background, so once it has started, refresh in a moment if the status has not changed yet.

Cancel in the Dashboard

Cancelling needs the Admin or Manager role.

1. Open Orders & Fulfillment → Orders and click the order.
2. Click More actions → Cancel order.
3. In Cancel this order, type the Reason.
4. Click Send cancellation request.

You see Cancellation request sent — waiting for an Admin to approve, with View in Approvals. The order stays open and the customer is not notified until an Admin approves it, even when an Admin sent the request. See Approve or reject a change.

Cancellations are always Admin only and cannot be relaxed in Approval Settings. A cancellation an AI agent asks for waits for an Admin the same way. A cancellation cannot be rolled back once it is applied.

What you cannot do here

• Cancel an order that is already cancelled. Cancel order is not available for it.
• Undo a cancellation.
