View your shop's themes

See every theme of a Shopify shop, which one is live, and open its files, from Multi-Store Sync in Shopify admin or from the StoreFleet Dashboard.

Updated

On this page
  1. In Multi-Store Sync (Shopify admin)
  2. In the Dashboard
  3. Theme changes are read-only for now
  4. Related

The Themes screen lists every theme of one Shopify shop. The live theme is always at the top with a Live badge; the others show Unpublished or Development. A theme Shopify is still building shows Processing… and cannot be opened until it is ready.

In Multi-Store Sync (Shopify admin)

  1. Open StoreFleet: Inventory Sync from Apps in your Shopify admin.
  2. Click Online store. The Themes tab opens.
  3. If you have linked more than one shop, use the store switcher at the top of the page to pick the shop.
  4. Click Edit files on a theme to browse its code. See Browse theme files.

In the Dashboard

  1. In the sidebar, open Online store → Themes.
  2. Pick the shop in the header. The screen shows one shop at a time.
  3. Click Edit files on a theme to browse its code.

Theme changes are read-only for now

Both screens show the banner Theme editing is read-only for now. Renaming, duplicating, publishing and deleting a theme need a permission Shopify has not granted StoreFleet yet, so only Edit files is offered, and theme files open read-only.

To publish, rename, duplicate or delete a theme today, do it in Shopify admin under Online Store → Themes.

When theme changes are switched on, the row menu also offers Rename, Duplicate, Publish and Delete. Publish and Delete are never offered for the live theme, and deleting asks you to type the theme’s name to confirm, because a deleted theme cannot be brought back.

Publishing a theme is Admin only in Approval Settings, and this cannot be relaxed:

  • In the Dashboard: Publish sends the theme to Approvals. You see Sent for approval — an Admin approves it in Approvals, with View in Approvals. Nothing is written to the shop until a member with the Admin role approves it, even when an Admin made the request. The live theme stays live until then.
  • In Multi-Store Sync (Shopify admin): when the workspace has at least one Admin, it is sent to Approvals in the StoreFleet Dashboard, and you see Sent for approval. An Admin approves it in StoreFleet Dashboard → Approvals. If nobody in the workspace has the Admin role yet, for example because no one uses the Dashboard, Multi-Store Sync writes it to Shopify right away as before.
