Edit a customer: details, tags, note and addresses
Change a customer's name, email and phone, edit tags, write an internal note, manage addresses and tax settings in Multi-Store Sync or the Dashboard.
A customer’s page is the same in Multi-Store Sync and in the Dashboard. Open it from the customer list (see Find and browse customers). The page is read live from Shopify each time you open it.
The top of the page shows the account state and the number of orders and amount spent. Overview shows when the customer was Created, Last updated and their Email verification.
Change details, tags and note
- In Details, change First name, Last name, Email or Phone.
- In Tags, type a tag (for example
VIP) and click Add. Click a tag’s remove button to take it off. - In Note (Multi-Store Sync) or Internal note (Dashboard), write a note. Only your team sees it; it never reaches the customer.
- Save:
- In Multi-Store Sync: click Save on the Shopify save bar, or Discard to undo your edits.
- In the Dashboard: a bar shows Unsaved changes. Click Save, or Discard. If you try to leave with unsaved changes, you are asked Leave without saving?
Changes are written to Shopify at once. In the Dashboard they do not go through Approval Settings.

- Click Save (Multi-Store Sync) or Save address (Dashboard).
To change the default later, click Make default on an address. To remove an address, click Delete and confirm. Deleting an address cannot be undone.
